Counseling Services

Individual counseling is basically a collaborative effort between you and your therapist, counselor or life coach. Our goal is to provide an open, supportive, and confidential environment for you to address the issues that are concerning you.

Who can benefit from individual counseling?

Just about anyone can benefit. No problem is too big or small. Listed below are just a few examples of some common concerns which bring people to Research West BHS.

Is individual Counseling beneficial for everyone?

At Research West BHS our therapy, counseling and life coaching are beneficial and therapeutic for a number of issues that can help you to get back on track.  However, there are some conditions in which we would strongly encourage you to seek longer term treatment that may involve a 30 day program.  After an initial consultation we can provide some recommendations for other services and programs that might benefit you as well.  Our main concern is that you get the proper help you need at the correct level of care.

  • Behaviors that can be harmful to you, like drug or alcohol abuse or other harmful behaviors
  • Symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression, coupled with drug/alcohol use
  • Interpersonal difficulties, family problems, romantic relationship concerns, problems with assertiveness, and other issues
  • Bereavement and grief related to the loss of a loved one (such as relationship breakups, deaths, divorce, or other major losses)
  • Concerns about body image, food, eating, or weight, as well as treatment for eating disorders
  • Experience with sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, abuse, or other trauma
  • Anger issues, codependency, sexual addiction

Individualized Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our very popular “Individualized Outpatient Program” is designed to meet the needs of people that are still able to function and work, but need a structured outpatient program for work purposes or to be able to cope with  their daily life and activities.  This two to three day a week program has you meeting with a different therapist/counselor upon each visit to work on different aspects of life’s difficulties.  This program meets some of the requirements set by employers and government agencies requiring an IOP or structured outpatient program.  One of our contracted government agencies has found this program very beneficial for their employees that they direct to an outpatient treatment program.

We have even been known to meet the client at an appropriate place, like a quiet coffee shop for their one hour visit.  If this sounds like what you or somebody you know needs, give us a call we’d like to discuss our IOP with you further and “custom fit” the program for you or your loved one…
